- Further deferral of class assumption
In view of the latest situation of the epidemic, the Education Bureau (the EDB) announced on
13th February, 2020 that all schools (including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools and private schools offering non-formal curriculum) would further defer class resumption for two weeks, that is, schools would resume their classes on 16th March 2020 the earliest. The EDB will continue to take into account the professional advice from health experts, readiness of schools and the supply of epidemic preventive materials in the community, etc. in making further assessment later. The EDB will decide the date of class resumption when there are sufficient conditions to resume classes, formulate arrangement of class resumption as appropriate and inform schools as soon as possible so that the schools can well prepare for the arrangements.
- Strength preventive measures
The EDB strongly appeal to students to avoid going to crowded places, and cease joining group activities (such as interest classes, tutorial classes, etc.) in order to reduce the risk of being infected. In order to reduce the flow of people going out, there is no urgency for students staying in the Mainland or other regions / countries to return to Hong Kong, but they should strictly comply with the preventive measures suggested by the local authorities. No matter where students are staying, they have to step up the preventive measures, pay close attention to their health conditions, and consult a doctor at once if feeling unwell.
- “Suspending classes but not suspending learning”
During the deferral of class resumption, students should maintain their motivation and interests in learning. They should stay at home as far as possible to attend e-learning activities, and read more books. P.1 to P.6 students are requested to use different online and school teaching resources to study at home. For details, please refer to the arrangement through our Teamwork School APP and School Webpage. Students should finish all the items on time as required.
- Our school remains open
During the deferral of class resumption, our school will keep the premises open till 3:30 PM on the original scheduled school days. We will arrange staff to be on duty to look after students who have to go back to school otherwise they would be unattended at home. In such cases, parents please prepare for their lunch and the student should wear a mask at school. Furthermore, the school is going to cancel the scheduled internal and external activities (including activities on Saturdays) as well as Parents’ workshop or make appropriate re-arrangements later.
- Cancellation of P.1-P.5 Test and P.6 Examination
Due to the further deferral of class resumption, our scheduled P.1-P.5 Test and P.6 Examination held on early March will be CANCELLED.
